I SOOOOO want to do this.....
This is from Alicia Paulson's blog. Isn't it wonderful? She posts a little about how she created this little winter scene here. Maybe next year I'll get up the gumption to do something similar. I always loved the little houses and trees that we had growing up with our train set. Wonder if my parents still have it and if I can convince my dad to set it up?????

Oh, this reminds me of my childhood. My father and uncle built the house I grew up in from drafting the plans to putting in the plumbing and electric...the whole nine yards. We had a beautiful handcrafted stone fireplace and mantle in the living room with an area big enough at the bottom to sit and enjoy the fire. My mom and I would always put out small lighted houses on the mantle surround by blankets of snow. I would always place the big church with all the stained glass windows in the very center. Hmm, mom doesn't decorate much for Christmas anymore. Wonder if she would mind giving them up? :)
i just love her house too, so many pretty decorations all year round. i don't think she has little ones to contend with though......i can just imagine my 4yo having access to a scene like that, before i'd know it there would be hot wheels and legos mixed up with all of the little trees and houses! but it's great to file under "someday". happy feast of the Immaculate Conception.
oooooh pretty! and look at those trees...i love those little trees.por
Wow, that is beautiful! I love the sparkle on the trees, and the effect of the lights is stunning!
